Wesleyan Readings (#1): The Triune God

WORSHIP LEADER: We believe in the one living and true God, both holy and loving, eternal, unlimited in power, wisdom, and goodness, the creator and preserver of all things.[1]

CONGREGATION: Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! (Rom. 11:33)

WORSHIP LEADER: Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. (Isa. 40:28)

CONGREGATION: He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. (Isa. 40:29)

WORSHIP LEADER: Within this unity there are three persons of one essential nature, power, and eternity—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.[2]

CONGREGATION: The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with (us) all. (2 Corinth. 13:14)

WORSHIP LEADER: When Jesus was baptized, he went up immediately from the water. The heavens suddenly opened for him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming down on him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased.” (Matt. 3:16-17)

CONGREGATION: Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19)

EVERYONE: To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. (1 Tim. 1:17)
