Majesty Divine
A hymn on the providence of God inspired by the book, Robinson Crusoe, by Daniel Defoe.
Lord our Wondrous Light. Majesty Divine.
For the moment, though adrift, we wait sure for tempests lift.
For the one who calmed the seas, holds ye dearly who believe.
God our refuge and our strength we trust Your grasp.
Refrain:
Awake o congregation of the saints. Put on your strength!
Clouds will break only for the Fathers sake.
Awake, see His wondrous light.
Lord our Wondrous Light. Majesty Divine.
Bones grow weary, bones grow weak, and the path seems oft so bleak.
Hold us surely, hold us fast, for our strength, what left, does lapse.
Majesty, o may we see Your wondrous light.
Lord our Wondrous Light. Majesty Divine.
Waters reach and waves surge round, yet how Your providence abounds!
Be our Compass. Be our Sail, lest our present foes prevail.
Precious Captain guide us safely to the shore.
