By that Same Grace
We saints assemble altogether,
“Christ our Savior” to proclaim.
Never forsaking to endeavor
In this high and lifted aim.
Dark valleys cannot block our lights advance.
No vanities avert our eyes.
And though our sins abound, His grace does more.
For this we’re bound for paradise.
Faithfully participating
in the means of grace bestowed.
Daily ascribing Him the glory
His Namesake alone is owed.
Ourselves pursuing that beyond ourselves:
Our Fathers will, His blessed ways.
His Kingdom now, already, yet not yet,
hence and forevermore rings praise.
We find it not through toil, nor wisdom.
Not thro fickle things of earth.
From just one source can man lay claim to
an eternal sense of worth.
Not our good works but He who makes them so.
Nothing of ours, but He our Lord.
Only in Christ, this Church’s perfect head
Can strength be gained and hope restored.
Transient afflictions weigh on,
Yet we press on all the more.
Horizons light paints pathways till its
golden beams lead us to shore.
Tho hostile mires entrench us readily so,
Your might is greater than such things.
Glorious Father in You grace is found,
And by that same grace so are we.
